MACTE Welcomes Amy Marston as Executive Director Consultant

ELLSWORTH, ME – September 25, 2026 – Maine Administrators of Career and Technical Education (MACTE) is excited to announce the hiring of Amy Marston as Executive Director Consultant, marking an important step in the continued growth of the statewide organization representing Maine’s Career and Technical Education community.

Marston brings extensive experience in workforce development, public affairs, community relations, and business engagement to the role. Her leadership comes at an important time for Career and Technical Education in Maine, as CTE enrollment continues to grow and schools work to build stronger connections between education and the state’s evolving workforce needs.

Building Stronger Connections Between Education and Industry

As Executive Director Consultant, Marston will lead statewide efforts to foster stronger relationships with business and industry partners while working directly with the MACTE Executive Board to strengthen and grow the organization.

This summer, MACTE held its first annual MaineCTE & Business Summit, bringing together administrators, counselors, and other key staff from all 27 CTE schools across Maine with leaders from business, industry, education, and statewide organizations.

The Summit represents a broader effort by MACTE to intentionally build relationships that strengthen workforce development and create expanded educational and career pathways for Maine students.

More Than 25 Years of Leadership Experience

Marston brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across workforce development, public affairs, and community relations.

Prior to founding her own firm, Edison Public Relations, she spent more than two decades at Central Maine Power (CMP), where she served as Director of Community Relations and led state-level workforce initiatives. Her work included helping establish one of Maine’s first high school utility apprenticeship programs.

Marston has also served on several statewide boards, including Jobs for Maine’s Graduates (JMG) and the Maine Blue Collar Scholarship Foundation. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Thomas College and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maine at Augusta.

“I’ve spent much of my career bringing education, employers and workforce needs together, and I truly believe CTE is one of Maine’s biggest opportunities,” Marston says. “We have incredible programs, talented students and employers who are always looking for skilled people. My job is to help make those connections, build stronger partnerships and make sure our CTE schools have the visibility, resources and support they need to keep growing.”

Supporting Maine’s Growing Workforce Needs

The MACTE Executive Board sees Marston’s appointment as an opportunity to build upon the partnerships already supporting CTE programs across the state.

In her new role, Marston will serve as a primary advocate and lead representative for Maine’s 27 CTE schools. Her work will focus on building strategic business alliances, expanding corporate sponsorship support, strengthening statewide partnerships, and helping drive funding and organizational growth.

She will also support MACTE’s flagship annual events, including the MACTE Fall Conference, Student of the Year Banquet, and annual MaineCTE & Business Summit, as the organization works to expand its capacity and long-term impact.
