Maine Administrators of Career and Technical Education (MACTE) is seeking a dynamic, relationship-driven Executive Director Consultant to champion the future of career and technical education across the state.

Are you a strategic networker with a passion for education and workforce development? Do you have the vision to build partnerships that will elevate Maine's next generation of skilled professionals? If so, we want you to be the voice and face of our organization.

About the Opportunity

Role: Executive Director Consultant

Investment: $25,000 – $30,000 via a 1-year part-time contract

Reports To: MACTE President/Executive Board

Commitment: Flexible scheduling of 10–30 hours weekly, aligning with seasonal peaks like our Summit and annual conferences/summit.

A Vision for Advancement: This consultancy serves as a strategic launchpad for a permanent leadership tenure. We will evaluate success through the following benchmarks:

  • Revenue Generation: Achieve a minimum 50% increase in annual sponsorship funding throughout the contract term.

  • Network Cultivation: Broaden the landscape of active business and vendor alliances that champion the MACTE mission.

Exceeding these objectives paves the way for this consultancy to evolve into a full-time, permanent Executive Director role over the coming three years.

Your Role & Responsibilities

As the Executive Director Consultant, you will be the driving force behind MACTE’s public presence and financial growth. Your core objectives will be:

  • The Face of MACTE: Serve as the lead representative and passionate advocate for all 27 Career and Technical Education (CTE) schools across the state of Maine.

  • Business Partnerships: Actively seek, develop, and nurture strategic business partnerships that align with our mission to prepare students for post-secondary academic success and career placement.

  • Sponsorships & Vendor Relations: Cultivate robust sponsorship and vendor relationships to secure financial support for the organization.

  • Event Funding: Drive the funding efforts for our three premier annual events that celebrate and advance CTE in Maine:

    • The MACTE Fall Conference

    • The Student of the Year Banquet

    • The MACTE Summit

  • Strategic Growth: Leverage these new partnerships and funding streams to scale the capacity of MACTE, paving the way for this consultant role to transition into a fully funded, full-time Executive Director position.

Who We Are Looking For

  • A Master Connector: You excel at networking, relationship building, and pitching a vision to business leaders, vendors, and community stakeholders.

  • A Self-Starter: You are highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and comfortable working independently to hit growth targets.

  • A Passionate Advocate: You believe in the power of Career and Technical Education and can articulate its value to Maine’s economy and workforce.

  • An Event Champion: You understand the mechanics of event sponsorships and how to create mutually beneficial opportunities for corporate partners.

How to Apply

Ready to shape the future of CTE in Maine and build your own full-time role in the process? We’d love to hear from you.

Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your experience in partnership development and your vision for growing MACTE to president@mainecte.org by August 31, 2026.  Once applicants are vetted, interviews with members of MACTE will be scheduled after September 7, 2026.
