Ford AAA Competition Round 1

The first round of the Ford AAA Student Auto Skills Competition has been concluded. Students were given the opportunity to demonstrate their automotive knowledge by taking an online exam. Students scoring the highest in the state (typically  top ten teams) then move on to participate in a "hands-on" competition within the state.

PATHS had two teams qualify!!:
Team I: Kolbe Clifford of Casco Bay and David Dutton of Cape Elizabeth 
Team II: Cody Harmon and Kris Valeriani both of GNG

A most sincere thanks for R.N. Darcie Binette for taking time out of her busy day to talk to Business Academy - Medical Assisting Program students about her career. Darcie is a former COT/Medical Assisting student that graduated, became a medical assistant at a pediatric office while pursuing her nursing degree. A thank you also to TD O'Brien for coming into class to talk to students about his college experience and his career as a personal trainer.............thanks you are the bestest!!!!

Hancock County Technical Center is back into the swing of things after a successful trip to the Maine State SkillsUSA Championships. 

On March 14th, we had over 40 students compete against other students from all over the state. Six students received gold medals, eight received silver, and six received bronze. On top of that, we also had five more students place fourth in their competitions. More than half of our competitors placed within the top five in their event.

The welding, carpentry, and manufacturing programs have been selected as a partners with the Association for Manufacturing Excellence's Adopt a School initiative. AME's role in the initiative is to help bring businesses together with high schools, community colleges and un iversities to share best practices that help drive continuous improvement and assist in preparing the next generation for a career in manufacturing.

The fashion program attended the DECA conference last week and many of our students ended up placing in the several different awards! DECA is an association of marketing students whose mission is to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitably, and management.
