Junior Culinary Arts student, Meghan Gray, shows off the dinner rolls, blueberry muffins, chocolate cookies, eclairs, and fruit pie that she baked within a four hour time slot. This is the same amount of time that she will have to bake these treats during the Commercial Baking Competition at the State SkillsUSA conference in Bangor.

Sabre Yachts in Raymond was the field trip destination for LRVC's Construction Technology classes. The tour of the facility and the explanation of the manufacturing process was lead by Don Wentworth, the Production Manager.

Mr. Wentworth is a former LRVC student and is this year celebrating his 31st year of working at Sabre Yachts. He also talked about careers in the industry and the company's expectations for their employees.

Law Enforcement students took a field trip to the Cumberland County Jail in Portland and took a tour of the facility and also met with several female inmates. Watch the video clip that aired on WCSH TV 6.

CATC will be having its Spring Open House on Thursday, February 25 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity for the parents of current students to discuss their son or daughter's progress this year, and to discuss career and educational opportunities available to them after graduation.

The week of February 8 was Dating Violence Awareness Week at LRVC.

Monday's kick-off assembly featured speakers from YAAPP (Young Adult Abuse Prevention Program).

Students in all programs competed in three contests, T-Shirt, Video Production, and Poster, with first place in each division winning a pizza party. 

Wednesday was Purple Cupcake Day, compliments of the Culinary Arts program. Homemade Purple Popsicles were provided by the Diversified Occupations classes on Thursday.
