If you are interested in a career in the U.S. Military, or are interested in learning more about YOUR interests/abilities, please consider taking the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) on THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 18th,  2014 @ 8:15am on the Mt Blue Campus! You are not commiting to the service if you choose to take this battery. There will be a follow up meeting with a career exploration rep to review your scores and to look at post- secondary opportunities!

Lake Region Vocational Center hosted its first Career & Technical Education College Fair on Wednesday, October 29 . Over 160 LRVC juniors and seniors attended the event in the LRVC Great Room to speak to the 28 colleges and post-secondary training programs who came to the event. The LRHS Sophomore Academy, whose focus is college and career pathways, also attended to speak to the participants.

LRVC Automotive Technology Instructor, Steve Christy is this year's winner of the Valvoline Career Tech/ASE Instructor of the Year Award. He was selected from candidates all over the country based on his exceptional performance on ASE tests taken in the last year.

Dance Performance at Portland Ovations Annual Auction

On October 1st, students from the Arts Academy Dance Program at PATHS performed for about 250 guests at the Portland Ovations Annual Auction at Portland Yacht Services. The students performed a 4 minute section of a dance choreographed by t he professional dance company "Lucky Plush", a Chicago based company who will be performing at Merrill Auditorium in May 2014 as part of Portland Ovations 2014-15 season. The Arts Academy dancers will repeat the performance in May to celebrate the visit...

The PATHS woodworking class partnered with Paul MacDowell and Ellen Handelman's Lyseth 5th graders to complete Little Free Libraries last Spring. The classes collaborated to learn about math, measurement, team work, collaboration and project planning. The PATHS students mentored the Lyseth students to create the finished project. 

 The money for the project was from a PEF (Portland Education Foundation) grant.

 The libraries will be at Lyseth, PATHS, Riverton Boys and Girls Club,...
