Corey Westleigh is a graduate of Lake Region Vocational Center's Health Occupations Program. As a two-year student, she became a Certified Nurse Assistant and also earned certifications from the American Heart Association in First Aid and CPR. While a junior, she represented LRVC at the SkillsUSA Maine conference and won a gold medal in Prepared Speech. Saturday, March 27th several students from the Robotics Program participated in the Maine VEX competition held at the University of Maine. Eighteen teams from New England arrived seeking the winner's position. UTC's Team 1995A entered the eliminations in last place and made it to the finals with a 2nd place win (same as last year). R. Congratulations to Adam Russell, a student at Medomak Valley High School and a member of the Mid-Coast School of Technology Co-op Work program, on participation in his first Lincoln County CART (County Animal Response Team) meeting. Adam has completed his Incident Command System course and received his ICS-100 certification. This is the first level of training through FEMA. In the case of an emergency, Adam is part of a team providing search, rescue, and care for domestic animals. |

Region 9’s second year building construction students built cabinets for the Rumford Information Booth. This was a community service project supervised by Cliff Thurston under the direction of Lloyd Williams, Region 9 building construction instructor. Last spring Ron Russell, volunteer for the Rumford Information Booth, contacted Lloyd Williams, and communicated the needs of the organization.
